Kershaw County Recreation Department

The Kershaw County Recreation Department offers a wide variety of sports and classes for people of all ages.  The Department maintains 28 parks throughout the County offering all sports including football, baseball, tennis, soccer, and basketball.  Classes offered through the Recreation Department include dancing (line, shag, ballroom), karate, gymnastics, cheerleading, yoga, and tonetics.  For more information, contact the Recreation Department at 803-425-6009.


Lake Wateree

This 13,250 acre man-made lake is known for large population of crappie, bass, catfish and bream. With more than 242 miles of shoreline, the lake is a year-round favorite of campers, fishermen, and recreational watercraft enthusiasts.

Lake Wateree State Park

This 238-acre park is located on the lake’s Desportes Island. It offers a tackle shop and park store with refueling dock and public boat ramp. The lakeside campground has 72 sites, including many that can accommodate large RVs and all with water and electrical service. The park also offers numerous picnic tables, a playground, and a mile long nature trail through the woods.


N.R. Goodale State Park

This 763 acre park features a lake, cypress tress, numerous species of birds and a variety of wildlife and plant life.


Green Hill Golf Club

This nine hole golf course sits on 70 acres of green grass and is shaded by beautiful hardwoods. Water comes into play on eight of the nine holes.


White Pines Golf Course

This 18 hole public golf course is located just east of the City of Camden.  The course’s signature hole, #16, is a 164- yard, par 3, with a lateral water hazard that comes into play on the fairway. This couse’s medium sized greens are slightly sloped, and sand bunkers are spread thoughout the entire design
