TRANSPORTATION

Kershaw County is located in the Midlands Region of South Carolina approximately 34 miles from the state's capital, Columbia, and is strategically positioned halfway between New York & Miami; within 24 hour ground access to more than 70% of the U.S. market.

INTERSTATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM

Located at the center of South Carolina, Kershaw County has easy access to the 5 interstate highways that crisscross in the state offering excellent east-west and north-south access to the rest of the United States. 

SEAPORTS

Located 124 miles (less than 2 hours away) from Kershaw County is South Carolina's Port of Charleston. It is the Nation's 4th Busiest Container Port and has been recognized as one of the most productive averaging 41 moves per hour per crane, well above the U.S. Port standard of 25-27. Each year, more than 30 different shipping lines serving 150 countries use South Carolina's ports. 

RAILWAYS

CSX Transportation provides rail service within Kershaw County as well as operates and maintains nearly 1,800 miles of track in South Carolina. In 2014, CSX invested more that $71 Million in its South Carolina network. 

Existing rail passenger service in South Carolina is provided by Amtrak with a Silver Star Amtrak Train Service and Station located in Kershaw County. Direct passenger rail access from Kershaw County includes New York City, Miami, and Washington D.C.

AIRPORTS
