Kershaw County, SC – Kershaw County will host a Parents Manufacturing Awareness Night on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 from 6:00PM until 7:00PM. The event will be held in The Kershaw County Economic Development Training Room located on The Central Carolina Technical College Kershaw County Campus at 90 Campus Drive, Camden.
Parents interested in hearing about local manufacturing and industrial education courses for their students will receive an overview of manufacturing workforce needs from local industries and learn about Kershaw County’s technical education programs offered at Woolard Technology Center (WTC) and Central Carolina Technical College (CCTC).
“We want to offer insight to parents on the benefits, funding opportunities, and education programs offered to students to successfully access the entry points and ongoing avenues needed to pursue and attain jobs with local industries,” stated Stewart Kidd, Existing Industry and Workforce Development Manager for Kershaw County Economic Development.
Along with the recent Counselor Manufacturing Briefing and next month’s 8th Grade Manufacturing Expo, this event is part of a comprehensive Industry Awareness Initiative. The purpose of the initiative is to prepare students for successful careers and to create and sustain a healthy workforce development pipeline for local industries.
In partnership with CCTC, WTC, South Carolina Department of Commerce, Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce, and Kershaw County Economic Development, the event is free and open to the public.
