Kershaw County, SC – Lauren Branham Reeder recently became Kershaw County’s first female South Carolina Certified Economic Developer. Born and raised in Kershaw County, Reeder was one of only ten individuals selected for The South Carolina Economic Developers Association’s Certification Program in the state. The program’s advanced level courses for professional economic development practitioners include negotiations, product and infrastructure development, marketing and communications, and deal structuring. Reeder, along with her classmates, spent a year taking rigorous coursework, exams, and presenting a case study to a panel of judges as a final project.
Reeder says, “It’s an absolute honor to be the first Kershaw County female to be a South Carolina Certified Economic Developer. My family has set roots in this community since 1745 and I live my life in a way that gives back to the community that has given so much to me. Becoming a certified economic developer will allow me to do just that as I continue to work every day to move Kershaw County forward.”
“Earning the South Carolina Economic Developer designation is an outstanding accomplishment and we are extremely proud of Lauren and this recognition of her professionalism, dedication, and talent,” stated Peggy McLean, Kershaw County Economic Development Director. “The Kershaw County community will certainly benefit from her achievement.”
